Professional carpet cleaning

It is important to keep our carpet clean and well maintained not only to keep it looking new and increase its longevity but also for health reasons. Out of all the furnishings we have at home, the carpet directly experiences the most traffic which contributes to dirt accumulation and general wear and tear. Having said that, it should be professionally cleaned at least twice a year and should also be regularly vacuumed at least once a week or between recurring cleanings.

Understand the carpet

Wool carpet

Wool as fibre can withstand pressure, has a beautiful aesthetic and excellent appearance retention properties. It is also incredibly long-lasting when properly cared for, making it an excellent investment when it becomes time to replace existing carpets.

Polypropylene carpet

Polypropylene (also known as olefin) is a synthetic material, meaning it’s man-made. It’s popular due to its combination of stain resistance, softness and value for money. It is difficult to dye and does not wear as well as wool or nylon.

Nylon carpet

Nylon is the most popular fiber type in the residential carpet industry today. It has a solid reputation for being durable and relatively easy to maintain and is highly sought after.

Polyester carpet

PET, short for Polyethylene Terephthalate, is a type of polyester fiber used to make a lot of popular carpets today. This fabric is made from PET chips, adopted from recycled plastic containers. Polyester fiber provides exceptional softness and extravagant color choices.

Cleaning Checklist

  •  Wipe all work surfaces
  • Clean the inside of all cupboards (shelves and doors). Remote all old food stuff, carrier bags etc.
  • Clean the tops of wall units and underneath them
  • Clean exterior and interior of drawers
  • Clean the sink, taps, wasters and draining areas
  • Degrease the wall tiles, then clean and wipe them
  • Internal oven cleaning, removal of build-up grease as well as clean exterior and polish any external chrome
  • Clean hobs, gas rings and gas control knobs
  • Fridge/freezer cleaning, grime, mildew and food deposit removal
  • Clean washing machine inside and out. Clean rubber at the door. Clean soap drawers
  • Clean dishwasher inside and out (if any)
  • Clean microwave inside and out
  • Refuse receptacles and bins: empty and clean inside and out
  • Hoover, mop and wipe the floor and clean skirting boards
  • Clean windows and windows frames(inside only), clean doors, tops of doors and door handles
  • Appropriately a safety clean and wipe all socket outlets and switches (front and edges), light fittings, shades
  • Shower screen de-scaled, cleaned and polished
  • Degrease the wall tiles, then clean and polish them
  • Bath, basin, taps, shower and fittings to be cleaned, de-scaled, dried and polished
  • Shower heads and waste fittings to be cleaned, de-scaled, dried and polished
  • Toilet to be de-scaled and brushed clean. Seat and cover to be clean and disinfected
  • All soap and shampoo deposits to be removed
  • Mirrors to be cleaned and polished
  • Extractor fans and air vents to be wiped
  • Floors to be washed. If carpet is existent, floors will be vacuumed
  • Clean bathroom window (interior only) Bedrooms and General areas (lounge, hallway, stairs, etc.)
  • Dusting throughout including: light fitting and shades, light switches, skirting boards, curtains rails, wall pictures, mirrors, fire surround, hand rails, stairs, radiators (behind and inside if possible)
  • Remove cobwebs
  • Carpenter areas to be vacuumed and all other floors to be washed  All glass (furniture tops, mirrors, picture frames etc.) to be cleaned with window cleaner
  • Windows to be cleaned internally. Windows sills to be wiped down
  • All doors, door frames and the top of doors to be cleaned. Door handles to be polished
  • Drawers and shelves to be cleared of any rubbish (newspapers, magazines etc.)
  • Upholstery vacuumed, also cushions lifted and cleaned underneath
  • All wooden furniture to be carefully wiped clear of dust
  • All bedroom’s furniture/storage units will be clean inside and out
